NewPad is a replacement for the original Windows Notepad. It was written a long time ago by a creator of Freeware Home as a programming excersize under Windows 95. It works as well under later versions of Windows. NewPad does not require installation. NewPad has a number of useful features - It can open as many files at a time as memory of your computer allows (sorry, file size limit is 64 Kb)
- It remembers settings (fonts, window size and position) since last session
- It can choose any font from installed on your computer, both fixed and proportional
- It can choose different fonts for editing and printing. Of course, you can choose identical
- It has Page Setup, where you can set headers and footers for printing
- It sure has Word Wrap, Find, Find and Replace commands
- You can see current date in a status bar
- And indeed, it is very simple and is almost of the same size as original Notepad, and it is FREE
NewPad does not have any 'useless' features - No flash screen
- No Help menu (NewPad is so easy in use, you really do not need one). Also no 'Help About'
- No tool bar (do you really need standard tool bar with New, Open, Save, Cut, Copy, Paste, Print and Help buttons?)
