I have been using openoffice.org for about 3 years now. Every version is getting better and better. Version 2.0 was a major jump forward. Check it out!

Portable apps are catching on fast, check out OUR listing (on the same page) for Portable Office Exec. The author, Robvdb, provides step-by-step instructions for installing a collection of very useful programs on a USB drive.

This Google search will give you some information;
Any program that is Open Source expects you to report all possible bugs to the developer forum http://support.openoffice.org/index.html
BUT
It is very unlikely that you will be the first to find a problem so you should search their forum messages before you post anything. If you do post (to any forum) you should make sure you provide ALL of the relevant information.

Open Office build based on the source code of StarOffice 5.2
This is NOT compatible with Microsoft Office file format (.doc, .xls, .ppt)
I've typed something neatly with Open Office Writer.
But, it became a mess when opened by Word.
The page margin are changed, etc...
It is NOT compatible with Microsoft Office

kurniawanjunaidi did it ever occur to you that the problem might be YOU?!?!
I've used AbiWord & OpenOffice.org, both created documents that would open perfectly in MS Office. OpenOffice.org most definitely IS completely compatible with MS Office BUT you do have to make sure that you save the file in the correct format for whatever *version* of Office you want it to be opened by.
You CANNOT just save a file in the default format if you are using the latest version of OpenOffice.org OR MS Office & you want to be able to open it in say MS Office 2000. You have to use the drop down box beside the "Save file as..." box & choose the format you need.

Maybe u right oldtabby, this probably just a small bug. I'll report it to developer forum. Anyway, abiword and open office can save data and display it perfectly in their own format (.abw & .odt) and able to print perfectly.
