PC Fare Meter  by Niknah
Business and Productivity → Date and Time Management → Timers

The computer equivalent of a taxi cab fare meter. Clocks your time, what you've been working on and adds up how much you should charge clients. No need to remember what you were doing, it automatically records your activities on the computer....

This program is fantastic! I am a consultant specializing in online training. I, like you, sit in front of this computer all day, working on multiple projects for multiple clients. Keeping track of my work/time for billing purposes has been a nightmare. BUT... not any more. PC Fare Meter is just what I need to be able to accurately track and bill... and later provide evidence to... each client. It's so easy to use and so unobtrusive that I can forget all about it while I work on each project. Yet it provides such a detailed accounting of my time spent that it's almost embarrassing to go down the log and see where I took a moment to read some news blog here or check my stock portfolio there. It has given me a completely new perspective on the value of my time. Just Great. Thank you... Thank you... Thank you!

Wow! That's some endorsement akatengu.
What's really cool is that this program is now Open Source. It's a relatively new SourceForge project so you might want to drop in on its forum & give the author a little encouragement. Of course you can also suggest improvements or new features ;)
