CellNet by David Henry Desktop → Desktop Management → Miscellaneous Desktop Management
Do more with CellNet - Completely clear your desktop of icons and organize them within CellNet in neat labeled columns. Do the same with documents, movies, music, programs, flash files, photos and favorite Internet places. Create playlists of your video clips, photos, and music then play them in a sequence....

Not very good. Media files need to either be moved into CellNet (upon which they will be renamed) or copied into CellNet. Why would you want to have two copies of every audio, video, or image file (with different names mind you) on your HDD? Good thing it's free because users will be spending money on a larger HDD if they use this program constantly.

A lot of programs like this aren't a real improvement. *I've* never had any trouble keeping icons OFF my desktop & my start menu neat, tidy & organized. I know where everything is because it's where *I* put it not where the author thinks it should go & its name is what *I* named it not some mile-long+version-numbers author's title!!!

Actually the program only makes one copy. The reason it renames the media files and documents is simply better organization. Most programs similar to this one including Windows media scan the HD for media then create a link. The problem with is, files can be scattered all over the system, lost and forgotten in mutiple folders, also if you decide to delete or move a file on your drive then the link between the file and the media program will be broken, creating an error. CellNet, on the other hand movies or copies the files to a special directory (that won't be touched) then creates the link. All your media and documents can be in one place. CellNet then manages those files. Icons on the desktop. A few a icons is very convenient, however if you have a lot of programs then they should be some how grouped and labled. If you work with your computer and you're constantly opening and closing programs then it gets awkward. For one thing, the icons are located below all programs opened on your desktop so everything has to be minimized or moved out of the way. CellNet is always on top. You can open a program then CellNet will pop-up to its parked position very neatly. I hope this answers some questions.
