Kyôdai Mahjongg  by Cyber Namida
Games → Board → Oriental

Kyodai Mahjongg is a great version of the famous Mahjongg Solitaire (or Shanghai) oriental game. The purpose of the game is to remove all the tiles from a board in pairs, and they have to be free on their left or right side, otherwise you can't remove them. The rules are simple and the game is extremely addictive !...

If you like kyodai you'll surely like In-Poculis Mahjong. It is the same type of game with great graphics and musics. Moreover it is free.

Bernard PLEASE READ our Forum Guidelines & DON'T plug your game on another author's page just for the sake of it, that's not what our program-specific forum pages are for.

In-Poculis Mahjong was submitted to Freeware Home, if it was freeware I would have listed it. WE don't think it's true freeware when the download file is named "mahjongdemo.exe". AND there's a "Buy the game" + a huge "$ Register" button on the page that leads to a purchase page with a specific dollar amount required.

TRUE freeware costs nothing, if future versions will be shareware either make this version shareware too & don't misname it as freeware or let this be unconditional freeware & future versions shareware. That's what Cyber Namida did.

The website is rather confusing regarding the status of this game. The info page contains the statement:
"You can FREELY distribute the unregistered shareware version of Kyodai to your friends, on a CD-Rom or whatever you want."

Also, if you click on the "Buy this game" button, prominently displayed on all pages, you see this information:
Product: Kyodai Mahjongg
Price: $22.95
with a button to buy the game. Nowhere did I see any notice proclaiming that it was freeware. I haven't installed it yet, so I don't know how it will ultimately function, but clearly the author does *not* wish to give the impression that it is free software...

derelict if you simply downloaded the latest version of Kyodai Mahjongg it is NOT FREEWARE, the free version is V.1.21 & the download is at the bottom of the list on the author's download page & it is marked "Freeware".

:-) for the sake of those who don't come to this page via our listing of this program I will repeat here the note I have on the listing:
N.B.There are various versions of this program most of which are shareware. The original version is still available and free, if the author's link doesn't work it's available here.

LOL no problem ;-)

If you like Mahjongg you'll find the original version is great, runs on just about any system, & has a good set of tile & background options. My husband reviewed it 10 years ago & his mum (79 at the time!) got hooked on it. The author saw the review & gave mum a licence for her 80th birthday so she has the latest shareware version & she still plays it. It is awesome but it does need computing power to run it properly, it also includes 6 other great games + a 2 player version of Mahjongg, lots of layouts & an editor. It's well worth the money ;-)
