Very good converter! I could not find one that would convert asf. to another format for editing, but this one worked GREAT and quickly too.

Downloaded QMC and installed with no problem. Very scalable with different languages being offered. Upon finalization of install procedures, was given options for accessibility (shortcut on startup, taskbar, readme file, start menu, etc.).
After installation opted to run spyware software to detect any malicious activity, none pertaining to QMC. Upon launch of converter software, gave trial run of conversion and work perfectly w/o any error messages. Glad to give donation

This is NOT freeware - if you do not register the program for cost, the "evaluation copy" adds the words "AVS MEDIA DATA" to the audio conversion - not just at the beginning of the track, which would be OK, but constantly, throughout the track!
It's a RIP OFF

Ike are you sure you are talking about the same program?
The only reference on Cocoon Software's website to money is a mention of voluntary donations for a program they repeatedly stress is freeware. None of the reviews they link to make any reference to a registration process
A google search on "AVS Media Data" does throw up a website (avsmedia.com) which includes a similar audio conversion utility which is shareware and therefore not listed on FH. This other company does specifically state.
"The trial version has no evaluation period, the only limitations are a voice watermark in the output files or a nag screen with our logo in some utilities."
On the Cocoon website there are ads. for AVS Video Converter from (avs4you.com) with a couple of "free" download links, perhaps this is the same company as AVS Media and could explain the confusion.
The download link for Quick Media Converter (or QMC 3.5.7 as the author shows it) is halfway down the page on the left hand side. This is the file to which the Download link on the FH listing leads.
