Ran OK for a short while then crashed to the desktop twice before I deleted it.

hmmm... I've used it for YEARS with no problems, on Win98SE, Win2K, and WinXP. Never had it crash on me...
(Note that I'm *not* inferring that Illegal Allen's report is invalid or incorrect in any way; just noting that it doesn't generally have this problem).

That's always the problem with windoze crashes - what caused the crash!!
It's especially annoying when a newly installed program crashes - ?!?!
Was it the new program; did you accidentally hit an unknown hot key combination to close the program; was it coincidental & unrelated; was it something else that doesn't like the new program; was it some hidden nasty; was it the website you were on; etc.etc.
Bottom line - the program doesn't exist that runs flawlessly on every possible system config ;)
This program has been around for so long, is rated for ALL versions of Windows including Vista & is hugely popular. Personally, I'd be inclined to check out their forums & see if there's a known issue that might explain it. Here's the Slim Browser forum link.
