Javacool has 2 spyware protection programs, we listed SpywareBlaster last year but SpywareGuard was only submitted to us recently & even Download.com didn't list it until March of this year.
This program has very mixed reviews from users, one of our regular visitors sent me the following comments...
You've listed this software as "New"..Actually it is rather old, and its update function doesn't work. It never updates new definition files because (I suppose) its developer has lost interest in the software and doesn't provide any. (The same folks who developed SpywareBlaster) Its other functions are redundant in the respect that other Anti-spy software such as Spybot Search and Destroy, Ad-Aware, Microsoft Antispyware, etc. perform the same resident protection/alert and oversight of the registry etc.
I have SpywareGuard, have had it for a very long time, and have considered removing it from my PC because I have layered protection with other Anti-Spy software. SpywareGuard is not software I rely on simply because of the lack of its developer to provide updates to its definition file.
if you install SpywareGuard on your PC, it will update its definition file only once.. Again, I suppose it downloads the old file that's been available since 2003, but trust me. That's the one and only time it will update.
Just my two cents worth.
