It is a wonderful tool and I have been using it for a long time.
BUT, I just got a notification saying that from Jan 2007, this will not be free any more.

What the notice actually says is that the existing version 7.1 will not be available after January 2007. If you follow the link on the notice to their website you will see that the latest version is 7.5 is now available and is still free.
I downloaded and updated yesterday.

AVG isn't usually misleading but there's a big change with v.7.5 - it's their FULL program, including their anti spware program. After 30 days the program will revert to the usual elements of their free program which *I* have always found to be excellent.
