FELEK

Description: FELEK is a tiny screen saver drawing the trajectories which the Sun and the Moon follow on the sky. The latitude, trajectory speed (as a multiple of real-time) and the tail length is adjustable. The gray ellipse is the Earth surface. Furthermore, the Earth and Moon illumination is displayed, showing the variation in the distance and inclination of the Moon. The position on the Earth, selected by the latitude, is marked with a red dot on the upper-left globe. You can install the screen saver by right-clicking on the SCR-file and selecting "Install". Program parameters are saved in the INI-file. Longitude and Time Zone are not used for sake of simplicity; the program uses mean solar time instead, i.e. Sun will be at the zenith at 12:00 on the average.

Description: EHILLE is a tiny screen saver drawing the visibility of the new crescent on the earth map. The start date, probability of visibility, processing speed and dwell time between scans can be adjusted. The visibility map for the nearest crescent is displayed. The latitude/longitude as well as the time of the first visibility together with the hijri calendar, the real-time values of the moon phase angle and the crescent width are shown. The instantaneous visibility as well as the cumulative visibility can be sketched. Determination of the crescent visibility is based on the Alperen criteria.

Description: C2A (Computer Aided Astronomy) is a Planetarium software that allows you to build detailed views of stellar fields. An important objective of this software is to take into account the main catalogues available to professional and amateur astronomers in order to prepare observations on small fields as well as astrometry and photometry works. C2A is also an easy to use general purpose Planetarium software with many functions. C2A is able to display the following catalogues: SAO, GCVS, WDS, Gliese and Hipparcos (all four provided with the standard program distribution), Guide Star, Tycho-2 (both can be downloaded from this site in the Downloads page), USNO-SA1.0, USNO-A2.0, USNO-B1.0, UCAC1, UCAC2, UCAC3, UCAC4, NOMAD, PPMXL et CMC15 (which are not provided with the distribution because of their size). For photometry purpose, C2A natively integrates the Loneos catalogue (UBVRI photometry of faint field stars, which is part of the standard distribution package). C2A is able to access directly over the Internet the catalogues ArasBeAM (for spectral observation of Be stars - see the site http://arasbeam.free.fr/), Exoplanet Transit Database (to plan exoplanet transit observations - see the site http://var2.astro.cz/ETD/index.php) and IAU Meteor Showers (which provides all the known and suspected meteor showers - see the site Meteor Data Center). Finally, C2A integrates an asterism catalogue.
